Sotheby’s Magnificent Jewels Sale

A "perfect" 100-carat diamond in a classic emerald-cut has sold for just over $22 million at auction. The internally flawless D color stone is the only classic emerald-cut white diamond of the highest color and clarity and over 100 carats to come to auction, according to Sotheby's. The final price was $22,090,000 US including the buyer's premium.
(IDEX Online News) – Sotheby’s upcoming Magnificent Jewels sale should live up to its name. More than 350 pieces are set to go on sale at the 21 April event and are expected to achieve in excess of $50 million.

Topping the highlights of the evening is a 100-carat emerald-cut diamond, expected to sell for between $19 and $25 million. The D/IF diamond is the largest “perfect” emerald-cut diamond ever offered at auction.

The rough stone weighed over 200 carats and was mined by De Beers in southern Africa.
The Monarch Blue Diamond – a platinum and rose gold fancy blue and colored diamond ring that contains an oval-shaped mixed-cut fancy blue diamond weighing over 6 carats has a pre-sale estimate of $3.5-$4.5 million. Another highlight is a platinum and 18-karat gold fancy purplish pink diamond and sapphire ring, which has a pre-sale estimate of $2.5-$3.5 million. $2,410,000

A platinum and diamond necklace that features a suspended 52.26-carat pear-shaped D/SI1 diamond has a pre-sale estimate of between $3.8 and $4.2 million.
